What is Kuckicha?
Kukicha – a.k.a.
“twig tea” – is a traditional Japanese tea variety made from the stems
and stalks of the tea shrub, the same plant that green tea and black
tea are made from (Camelia sinensis). After the twigs are pruned from
the shrub, they are steamed and dried, then aged and gently roasted.
Why use Japanese tea?
Tea is cultivated
throughout Asia and each estate produces tea with its own unique
characteristics. We also offer tea products from China (Golden Green
tea) and from Darjeeling, India (Organic Green tea with Ginger).
When should I use it?
As a refreshing
healthy beverage, drink 3 or more cups daily.
How does it taste?
Pleasantly rich,
nutty and roasted: far less astringent than green tea. Serve with
lemon if desired.
