What is Bancha?

There are several harvests (a.k.a flushes) of tea leaf each year. “Ban-cha” is a traditional , daily use, Japanese Green tea variety that is made from mature leaves, plucked in the summer or autumn, while “Mat-cha” and “Sen-cha” are varieties made from young, tender leaves, plucked in the spring.

Why use Japanese tea?

Tea is cultivated throughout Asia and each estate produces tea with its own unique characteristics.  We also offer tea products from China (Golden Green tea) and from Darjeeling, India (Organic Green tea with Ginger).

When should I use it?

As a refreshing healthy beverage, drink 3 or more cups daily.

How does it taste?

A strong tea with a somewhat sweet and astringent taste.
